This is a special community event showcasing Smoke in the Spring BBQ teams.

  • BBQ teams accept BBQ Bucks as payment for food.
  • BBQ Bucks can be reused from year to year
  • BBQ Bucks are a dollar for dollar exchange.

BBQ Bucks are on sale 8 a.m.-5 p.m. April 5-8, and 8 a.m.-12 p.m. April 9 at Osage City Hall, and 1-7 p.m. Friday, April 9 on site at Smoke in the Spring, at the Community Building South Side Patio.

OCPR-logo-redOsage City Aquatic Center is getting ready for summer, offering a variety of job openings for the pool season. Also coming up are Flint Hills League youth baseball and softball, dance clinic, and BBQ with Smoke in the Spring, April 9-10, 2021! See details below:


OCPR Update: Osage City Aquatic Center announces job openings

OCPR-logo-redOsage City Aquatic Center has several job openings for the upcoming pool season:

Assistant Pool Manager

  • Minimum age of 18 to apply
  • Season Hour Position – During OCAC season
  • 20-40 hours per week
  • If hired, must complete CPR & Lifeguard Training

Lifeguard

  • Minimum age of 15 to apply
  • Season Hour Position – During OCAC Season
  • 10-30 hours per week
  • If hired, must complete CPR & Lifeguard Training

Concession Worker

  • Minimum age of 18 to apply
  • Season Hour Position – During OCAC Season
  • 20-40 hours per week
  • If hired, must complete CPR Training

Application deadline, March 5, 2021. Return applications to Osage City Hall, Corey, or Lynn. Interviews (if needed) will be scheduled by Lynn. Pickup applications at Osage City Hall – Questions? Contact Corey or Lynn.

OCPR-logo-redOsage City Parks and Recreation is starting off the new year with youth basketball for pre-K through second grade, with the signup deadline on Jan. 15, 2021. Here are the details:

OCPR Update: OCHS cheer team coaches up-and-coming cheerleaders

OCPR-logo-redOsage City Parks and Recreation is encouraging young cheerleaders to participate for the OCHS Cheer Camp, with a deadline of Sept. 25 for signup. Also in the works is the annual barbecue contest and community barbecue party, Smoke in the Spring, which has been postponed this year to Oct. 30-31, 2020. The schedule of events is shaping up to include fun for everyone.

OCPR-logo-redIt’s officially hot outside and Osage City Aquatic Center is open for cooling off. Swim lessons are underway and session two begins next week. Osage City Parks and Recreation is also gearing up for youth football for summer and early fall. Check out the current OCPR schedule below.

OCPR-logo-redOsage City Aquatic Center will open to swimmers next week, June 15, 2020, and Osage City Parks and Recreation has scheduled group and private swimming lessons, lap swims, and water aerobics for the season. Here are the details:

OCPR Update: Smoke in the Spring at Halloween; still planning softball, baseball

OCPR-logo-redOsage City Parks and Recreation has officially rescheduled Smoke in the Spring to Oct. 30-31, 2020. The annual event was originally scheduled for the second weekend in April, but was postponed due to the pandemic. OCPR is also still planning youth softball and baseball and accepting applications in case the season will happen. See details about OCPR’s spring plans below:

Smoke in the Spring State BBQ Championship is April 10-11, 2020, and the Osage City community is planning its annual celebration of barbecuen. OCPR Update: Dance clinic, BBQ, aquatic center employment opportunities

OCPR-logo-redOsage City Parks and Recreation will finish up winter with the Osage City High School dance clinic for dancers first through eighth grade, but spring is just around the corner as preparations are being made for the city’s annual BBQ festival, Smoke in the Spring. And though it seems too cold to think about the aquatic center, applications are now open for assistant pool manager, lifeguards and concession workers.
