Rider appreciation trip to visit sights of Alta Vista, Alma

Submitted by Senior Center Director Byron Jordan

Our June rider appreciation trip is set for Thursday, June 26, with the bus going to the Ag Heritage Park in Alta Vista and Grandma Hoerner’s in Alma. The lunch stop will be at the Barnyard Café in Alta Vista. A $7 cash donation is requested from each rider to help cover entry fees and transit. Riders will be responsible for their meal costs. The bus leaves the center at 8:30 a.m. Call 785-528-4906 or stop by the Osage County Senior Center, 604 Market St., Osage City, to reserve a seat or for more information.

For those folks with “nothing to do”, may we suggest getting involved with some of the activities at the senior center? For crafty folks there’s sewing, ceramics and the arts; for gamers there’s cribbage, Mexican Train dominoes, pool, bingo, and Monday night cards; and, for the fitness seekers there’s armchair exercise, and a very nice exercise equipment room. And, we should not forget the Monday through Friday noon meals through the nutrition program, the monthly biscuits and gravy served by the Osage Nursing Home, and the senior commodities distribution program. We appreciate our patrons, but are always looking for more participation.
