Large amount of stolen property recovered in rural Carbondale

In a press release issued this morning, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office reported the recovery of a large amount of stolen property Monday afternoon from a location about two miles north of Carbondale.

According to the sheriff’s office, at 2:43 p.m., June 16, deputies served a search warrant at 449 W. 117th St., Carbondale, for cultivation of marijuana and possession of stolen property.

Deputies recovered four enclosed trailers of various sizes, four flatbed trailers of various sizes, and a large amount of stolen property; some of which has already been identified and returned to owners.

Items recovered by the deputies have been connected to burglaries and thefts reported by the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department, Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Topeka Police Department. Deputies also seized an undisclosed amount of controlled substances.

No arrests have been made at this time, but the investigation is ongoing and any person with information related to the address is encouraged to call Osage County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-OSCRIME, or the Osage County Sheriff’s Office at 785-828-3121.
