Fourth of July: Run, walk or march around Lyndon

062814-lyndon-run-walkRunners and walkers are invited to join in the cross town Firecracker 5k Walk/Run on July 4 in Lyndon, hosted by the Lyndon High School cross country team and Lyndon Pride. Proceeds will benefit both groups.

Runners and walkers should meet at 7:30 a.m. Friday, July 4, at Lyndon Community Center, 204 Topeka Ave. Registration fee is $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Prizes will be given to the top three finishers in each category.

Early registration was encouraged to ensure T-shirt count. To register, contact Julie Stutzman, city clerk, at Lyndon City Hall, 730 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451, call 785-828-3146, or email: [email protected].

For participants, the early morning 5K will serve as a warm up for the 10:30 a.m. 1.6K Fourth of July parade, starting at Lyndon High School. Parade entrants should arrive early.
