Sunny, summer day brings Street Rodding American Style to Lyndon City Park

Saturday, June 21, the Lyndon United Methodist Church hosted its third annual Get Rev’d Up Car and Cycle Show, in Lyndon City Park. One hundred and twenty-one vehicles of all makes and models participated in the show, with 36 awards presented to participants. A highlight of the event was David Wolfe and Patricia Brown, of the television show Street Rodding American Style, who were filming the Lyndon car show for an episode that will air in early 2015.

Breakfast, lunch and homemade ice cream were served by the Lyndon United Methodist preschool board; the Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) sold cinnamon rolls. Gospel as well as rock-and-roll music was provided by the “Constance Praise Band” from Atchison, Kan. Activities for children included a coloring contest. Proceeds of the event will go to “The Bridges to the Future Fund” which supports upkeep for local church camp facilities such as Camp Chippewa and Forest Park.
