Oklahoma issues Amber Alert for infant

UPDATE: July 18, 2014, 2:07 a.m. – This Amber Alert cancelled after suspects were apprehended in Seminole, Texas. Olivia Smith is reported to be safe and in protective custody, according to the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office.


A Kansas amber alert has been issued for 5-month-old Oliva Smith, who was last seen at Elmwood, Okla. Authorities report the suspect, Cindy Findley, has a mental condition and made comments about having a vision of the child dying in two days.

The child was abducted at approximately 12:15 p.m. July 17, in Kingfisher County near Cashion, Okla. Around 7:30 p.m., the suspect vehicle, a black and brown 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe with Texas license BYZ-3364, was sighted in the panhandle of Oklahoma, possibly bound for Salt Lake City, Utah.

Olivia has brown hair, blue eyes, a height of 2 feet 1 inch, and weighs 13 pounds.

Anyone with information about the child’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME.
