Osage County transit service acquires new bus

The Osage County General Public Transportation program is beginning a new era with the acquisition of one new lift bus and the eventual sale of two of the old buses that have been part of the fleet for many years. The new bus has a maximum rider capacity of 15 with one wheelchair, or 14 passengers with two wheelchairs.

The sale of the two older buses will be coordinated by Osage County by public notice in early August. Interested persons or organizations may call the senior center at 785-528-4906 for more information.

Despite the reduction in the public transit fleet and rider capacity, the general public should see very little or no change in the trip schedule or availability of bus transportation for Osage County residents.

The nutrition site’s ice cream social is an important fundraiser for their lunch and meals on wheels program. So we hope you will join us at the senior center, 604 Market St., Osage City, on Thursday evening, July 31.
