Donald M. Langley Sr., 91, Carbondale: March 2, 1923 – Aug. 6, 2014

CARBONDALE – Donald M. Langley Sr., 91, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at a Topeka nursing home. He was born on March 2, 1923, in Eskridge, Kan., the son of Late and Pearl Rowley Langley.

Don grew up in Eskridge and lived there until moving to Carbondale in 1965.

He graduated from Burlingame High School, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. He had worked in construction for many years, and retired from USD 501, where he had worked in maintenance. He had attended the Grace Assembly Church, in Burlingame.

On Sept. 23, 1950, Don was married to Wanda Williams, in Osage City.

He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Langley on July 16, 2014.

Don is survived by his wife Wanda, of the home; his daughter, Sandra Reigle, of Belvue; a son, Don Langley Jr., Safford, Ariz.; three sisters, Velata Tibbs and Virginia Langley, both of Topeka, and Frances Meyers, of Texas; a brother, Earl Langley, Mesa, Ariz.; and four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Osage City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
