Rats and rods rally at Burlingame

Winner of the youngest driver award was Liam Vandruff, Burlingame.

During the fourth annual Rats and Rods Rally Car Show, held Aug. 17, in downtown Burlingame, 55 antique or unique cars lined the bricks on the Santa Fe Trail (Santa Fe Avenue).

Organizer Jeanne Riggs announced award winners as follows:

  • Participant’s Choice, Scott and Carla Shigley, Easton, Kan.
  • Get Out and Push, Ed Weekley, Carbondale, Kan.
  • Most Likely to get a Speeding Ticket, Joe and Gia Crownover, Independence, Mo.
  • Farthest Traveled, Joe and Gia Crownover, Independence, Mo.
  • High School Trouble Maker, Donald Creason, Lawrence, Kan.
  • Too Pretty/Dreamiest Car, Leland McMechan, Lawrence, Kan.
  • What the Heck is it? Jeff and Robin Osburn, Lyndon, Kan.
  • Youngest Driver, Liam Vandruff, Burlingame, Kan.
  • Biggest Bug Splat! Craig Graham, Osage City, Kan.
  • People Mover, Israel and Alice Perez, Topeka.
