First scheduled Saturday bus trip to visit Ottawa farmers market and local bakery

We’re starting to put ideas together for Osage County General Public Transportation’s September rider appreciation trips. We already have two special trips planned.

For something new, we are going to try a Saturday daytime trip on Sept. 6 to Ottawa. We will visit the farmers market first and then have lunch downtown at the Keim Bakery & Grill. The bus will leave at about 10:20 a.m., with lunch at 11:30 a.m. A $3 donation is requested to help cover transit costs, and each rider will be responsible for the cost of their meal. The Saturday trip is kind of experimental. Participation will determine the likelihood of future weekend adventures.

Our September evening meal bus trip will be on the 18th to the Chicken House, in Olpe. We will leave around 5:40 p.m. A transit donation of $4 is requested from each rider, with meal costs once again the responsibility of each rider. This trip is in response to a special request from one of our patrons. The signup sheets for these trips are out now. All special trips are limited to the first 15 riders signed up.

Osage County Senior Center will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, for Labor Day. There are no scheduled activities, meal service, or bus operations that day.
