Seats fill fast for bus trips to interesting destinations

The reduction in the Osage County General Public Transportation bus capacity from 40 to 27 may have made a bigger difference than we thought. Very seldom do we fill up all our trips, but the trips to Lecompton, Ottawa and Olpe are now full. We appreciate those riders who take advantage of these trips. However, we always have room on our regularly scheduled shopping trips to Topeka and Emporia.

We have tentatively scheduled a trip to Topeka for an “antique shopping blitz” on Sept. 25.  More details on this trip will come out in next week’s Osage County Senior Center news.

Upcoming:

  • Thursday, Aug. 28 – Bus trip to Lecompton 8 a.m.; Art and painting class 9 a.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 29 – Bingo 10 a.m.; cribbage 12:15 p.m.
  • Monday, Sept. 1 – Senior center closed for Labor Day holiday – no meal service, no bus service, no activities.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 2 – Ceramics 9 a.m.; Mexican Train games 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 3 – Sewing 8 a.m.; armchair exercise 11 a.m.; cribbage 12:15 p.m.
