Summer is growing season for area businesses

August was a month of business expansion in Osage County, with two area companies opening new locations.

On Aug. 16, the city of Lyndon held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new, second location of Tony’s Tire and Auto, at 319 S. Topeka St., Lyndon. The auto service center, which is operated by Tony Horne, opened in Lyndon in July. Welcoming the new business was Lyndon Mayor Brandon Smith and city administrator Betty Thompson. Tony’s Tire and Auto’s original location is in Osage City. More information is here.

In Osage City, Casey’s General Store opened a new store, which was constructed next to its old location at 218 N. Ninth St. On Aug. 15, the Osage City Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony with store employees and customers during the new store’s grand opening week. The new Casey’s opened Aug. 7.
