Osage City Area Arts Council to present French guitar virtuoso at ‘Depot Bistro’

091114-CLAUDE.bourbonThe Osage City Area Arts Council will present a one of a kind medieval and Spanish blues guitar virtuoso in concert Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Osage City Santa Fe Depot. As part of his U.S. tour, Claude Bourbon will take center stage with a breathtaking acoustical fusion of blues, jazz, folk, classical and Spanish guitar along with vocal arrangements.

Born in France, classically trained in Switzerland and currently living in England, Bourbon has performed and studied all over the world as a finger-picking guitarist. He has perfected a fusion of classical and jazz with Eastern, Spanish and Latin sounds with a little Western folk included. With fast moving hands and dancing fingers, Bourbon makes unique and interesting sounds with his guitar. With a gravelly voice, described as “soulful raspiness”, he has woven his unique sound into an evening of entertainment that seems to mesmerize his audiences. It might include a little flamenco, some gypsy-jazz, a little Indian influence, some good ol’ Southern blues and a touch of Americana. It’s been said that “the man has soul.” Bourbon provides a rich evening of music that is a real treat for music lovers.

OCAAC is inviting everyone to the “Depot Bistro” as a social hour with beverages and bites will start at 6:30 p.m. The performance will follow at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is a freewill donation. The Santa Fe Depot is at Fifth and Market streets, in Osage City.
