Mary Jo Hutchison, 76, Quenemo: Feb. 23, 1938 – Aug. 29, 2014

090114 obit mary jo hutchisonQUENEMO – Mary Jo Hutchison, 76, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014, in the presence of her family. She was born on February 23, 1938, in Quenemo, Kan., the daughter of Clarence and Edith Mollet Rose.

Mary Jo had lived in Ottawa for 10 years, but had lived most of her life in Quenemo.

She had worked at Cedar House, the cafeteria at Wal-Mart Distribution Center and Parmely’s in Ottawa. She was a waitress at Bill & Ellie’s, in Quenemo, and was always a homemaker. She attended the Quenemo Baptist Church.

On June 5, 1955, Mary Jo was married to George Walter Hutchison, in Quenemo.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Walt, on Nov. 5, 2009; two grandchildren, Codi Soper and Garrison Flint Hutchison; and her five brothers, Leroy, Bubb, Babe, Jim and Bill.

Mary Jo is survived by her six children, Cheryl Lynn Alley, Jimmy Wayne Hutchison, Michael Eugene Hutchison, Debra Mae Anderson, all of Quenemo, Linda Jo Lynn Wendt, Lyndon, and Darren Lee Hutchison, Quenemo; three sisters, Laura Pulliam, Madison, Fla., Jeanne Williams, Lubbock, Texas, and Betty Kraus, Ottawa; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, at Quenemo. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Jo Hutchison Memorial Fund and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
