Kansas City man to appear in court on aggravated indecent liberties charges

A Kansas City, Mo., man will have his first appearance in Osage County District Court next week on two charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

Alan W. Leroy, 59, Kansas City, Mo., was arrested Aug. 6 on the charges and later released from custody on $100,000 bond.

In a complaint filed by Osage County Attorney Brandon Jones, it is alleged that on or about May 11, 2014, in Osage County, Leroy twice engaged in lewd fondling or touching a child younger than 14 years of age.

The charges are off grid person felonies, with possible punishment upon conviction of imprisonment for life with a mandatory minimum term of 25 years and a fine of up to $500,000.

Leroy’s first appearance has been scheduled for 9 a.m. Sept. 18. His attorney is Dionne Scherff, Overland Park.
