Marie Anne Laue, 86, Vasar: Aug. 10, 1928 – Sept. 26, 2014

VASSAR – Marie Anne Laue, 86, passed away on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at an Osage City nursing center. She was born on Aug. 10, 1928, on the family farm near Vassar, the daughter of R.C. and Elsa Peimann Bauck.

Marie grew up near Vassar and had lived in Overland Park for more than 30 years before moving to Osage City.

She graduated from Lyndon High School, and attended Clark Business School, in Topeka. She had worked for U.P.S. as an accounts clerk for over 20 years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, in Vassar, and the Bethany Lutheran Church, in Overland Park.

She was married to Harold Persinger on Dec. 14, 1947; they later divorced. She married Walter Laue on Oct. 14, 1966.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, on Aug. 19, 1974; by a son, Kirby L. Persinger, on June 24, 1999; and by a brother, Harlan Bauck.

She is survived by her two sons, Keith L. (Nancy) Persinger, of Vassar, and Kelly L. (Karen) Persinger, Atchison; two daughters, Kathy L. (Ken) Allison, Lyndon, and Karen L. Kidd, Overland Park; a stepdaughter, Nancy (Terry) Scheuerman, Topeka; two brothers, Glenn (Velma) Bauck and Ruben (Hedy) Bauck, all of Vassar; 11 grandchildren, one step-grandchild and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, at the Zion Lutheran Church, in Vassar. Burial will be in Vassar Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, in Lyndon.
