Harveyville UMC schedules fun fall activities

The Harveyville United Methodist Church has many events planned for all to enjoy.  Our annual Trunk or Treat will be held at the church on 5-7 p.m. Oct. 31. Church members will be handing out candy and hot dogs for the kids.

The church will be having a fund raiser 11 a.m.-2 p.m. November 15 to raise money for the church building fund. We will have a ham and bean or vegetable soup dinner that includes corn bread, desserts and a drink for $7 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. The youth group will be having a bake sale to raise money for youth events.

The church has started a United Methodist Women’s group that meets the fourth Monday of every month at 7:15 p.m. Any woman who is interested in having fellowship time and working on missions and outreach is encouraged to attend. We will be making health kits to be delivered to Bishop’s Round Up the middle of November. They are asking for everyone to save Best Choice UPC labels. The money raised from these labels will be used to help with student scholarships and summer camps for youth.

The youth have started “God Squad” youth group. They are focused on missions and events that will help the church, the community and themselves, as they attend district and conference events. They are saving soda cans and the tabs off the cans, and are planning activities for the youth in the community. They meet at the church 6-7 p.m. Sundays. Any youth in junior high or high school is encouraged to attend. Adult leaders are Kathy Boyd, Laurel Riggin and Debbie Roberts.

Join us for services every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. We are a church with open hearts, open minds and open doors. We are saved to serve! Call the church at 785-589-2456 if you have questions about upcoming events or would like to donate soda cans or UPC labels. Arrangements can be made to collect these items. Thank you in advance!
