Rural two-vehicle accident claims life of Burlingame woman

A rural Burlingame woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal accident that happened Monday evening north of Burlingame. The Osage County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jeanne Kinnett, 35, died from injuries sustained in the accident.

According to a sheriff’s office news release and report, Kinnett and 9-month-old Thomas Kinnett were both injured when a 2003 Chrysler van Kinnett was driving struck a trailer being pulled by a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Perry Kinnett, 31, Burlingame. The report said both vehicles were northbound on Burlingame Road north of 157th Street around 6:30 p.m. Oct. 20, when Perry Kinnett attempted stop the pickup to secure the load on the trailer and the van struck the trailer from behind.

Jeanne Kinnett was transported by helicopter ambulance to Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, but died from her injuries. It was not known if she was wearing a seatbelt. Thomas Kinnett was reported as injured and was transported by Osage County EMS to Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka. He had been in a safety restraint.

Perry Kinnett and two passengers in the truck, Sean O’Neal, 10, and Sophia Kinnett, 2, did not request medical treatment at the scene. All were wearing safety restraints.

The latest sheriff’s office report lists a rural Burlingame address for all occupants of both vehicles involved in the crash.

A rural Carbondale woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal accident that happened Monday evening north of Burlingame. The Osage County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jeanne Kinnett, 35, died from injuries sustained in the accident.

According to a sheriff’s office news release issued this morning, Kinnett and an infant passenger were both injured when a vehicle Kinnett was driving struck a trailer being pulled by a truck driven by Perry Kinnett, 31, Carbondale. The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Oct. 20, at 157th Street and Burlingame Road.

The release said the infant had been transported by Osage County EMS, but no information about the child’s condition was released. The sheriff’s office previously reported one victim had been transported from the scene by helicopter ambulance. Today’s press release reported that Perry Kinnett and passengers in the truck did not request medical treatment at the scene.

The sheriff’s office has not released any information indicating the types of vehicles involved in the crash, the circumstances of the accident, or the identity or number of passengers.

The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
