Kiwanis Club to host Halloween parade in downtown Osage City

The annual Osage City Kiwanis Club’s Halloween Parade will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. Participants will meet at Santa Fe Park, Fifth and Market streets.

Ghosts and ghoulies will parade up and down Market Street where local businesses will greet them with a variety of treats.

The parade has grown to be a huge event as nearly 300 children took part last year. Dressed in a myriad of costumes, the parade showcases the imaginations of the kids as they masquerade in everything from masks to superhero outfits.

In many instances, the children are escorted by their parents and also by Kiwanis Club members. The local police department and city workers help with traffic control to keep the marchers safe.

It’s a sight worth seeing if you’ve not seen the parade before. Cameras are encouraged.
