County shop to be disposal point for hazardous household waste Thursday, Friday

The Osage County Road and Bridge Department and the Lake Region Solid Waste Authority will be accepting household hazardous waste Thursday and Friday, at Lyndon. The hazardous waste disposal will be the last scheduled this year.

Hazardous products can be dropped off 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Nov. 6 and 7, at the Osage County shop, at 1215 Washington St., Lyndon.

Acceptable Items

  • Outdoor products: Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, pool chemicals, roach and mouse poisons, etc.
  • Household products: Bleach cleaners, mothballs, shoe polish disinfectants, household batteries, furniture polish, etc.
  • Automotive products: Used motor oil, anti-freeze, brake fluid, car wax, auto batteries, carburetor cleaners, etc.
  • Paints: Latex paint, oil base paint, stains, paint remover, paint thinner, spray paint.

Items not accepted include explosives, kepone, tires, ammunition, asbestos, radioactive materials, compressed gas cylinders, and bio-hazards.
