‘Annie Play Will Do’ for Burlingame Schools’ fall theatre

Burlingame Schools will present “Annie Play Will Do” by Scott Haan, 7 p.m. Nov. 14 and 15, in the Burlingame Elementary School gym.

The play will have a musical introduction scene that includes the cast, elementary student dancers and the “Harmonaires Showchoir”. It’s a play within a play, full of mix-ups, match-ups, and surprising twists.

“Annie Play Will Do” as Burlingame School’s cast practices for next week’s production.

The plot centers on the high school drama teacher (J.T. Thompson) and his students.  Because of a miscommunication with the principal (Robert Hutchins), the drama teacher finds himself with one day to prepare for the school play. He turns to two of his best students, Paul (Tristan Lee) and Laura (Katheryne Pell), to take charge and co-direct the show. He is unaware the two have just broken up and aren’t speaking to each other. Things go from bad to worse when minutes before the curtain rises, they discover they have been rehearsing different shows.  It’s a theatre nightmare brought hilariously to life.

Tickets will be sold at the door: $3 for students and $5 for adults.
