County bus provides easy Christmas shopping

With the holidays falling as they have in November, Osage County’s public transportation will have no other special bus trips this month. However, we have tentatively set up two bus trips in December for Christmas shopping and an evening supper trip, weather allowing, of course.

A supper trip to the Trail Days Café and Museum, in Council Grove, is scheduled for Thursday evening, Dec. 4. The Christmas shopping trip will take the place of our regular Osage-Burlingame-Scranton to Topeka trip on Dec. 10. We are trying a new destination for this trip, as the bus will go to the Manhattan Town Center rather than Oak Park Mall in Kansas City. Details are out with the signup sheets at the Osage County Senior Center, 604 Market St., Osage City. Feel free to call 785-528-4906 for more information. These trips are limited to 14 riders each, and will probably fill up fast.

The senior center is hosting one more Medicare and health insurance seminar by Coventry Health at 9 a.m. Nov. 17. This is a free seminar that can provide you with answers and advice on Medicare and the Affordable Health Care Act.
