Wayne Dale Schrader Jr., 61, Osage City: Jan. 26, 1953 – Nov. 30, 2014

OSAGE CITY – Wayne Dale Schrader Jr., 61, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at his home in Osage City.

He was born Jan. 26, 1953, in Spokane, Wash., the son of Wayne D. and Betty M. (Speakman) Schrader. He graduated from Osage City High School in 1971; he was active in football.

In high school, he worked on his grandfather’s farm and also helped in construction work in Osage City. Wayne joined the United States Navy after high school. He had 10 years of service and had many tours to foreign countries. He had worked at IBP and Didde Glazier, in Emporia, and Frito Lay and Goodyear Tire, in Topeka, until he was disabled.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Schrader, Osage City; two daughters, Jamie Schrader and Amy Schrader, both of Osage City; two sons, Shane Schrader, Austin, Texas, and Jerry Schrader, Osage City; three sisters, Vickie Schrader, Arkansas City, Kan., Cindy Sharpe of Gypsum, Kan., and Linda Robertson, Osage City; a brother, Ed Schrader, Osage City; five grandchildren, Paige Schrader, Ariel Brecheisen, Ethan Casebier, Noah Jay Schrader and Brianna Schrader; and one great-granddaughter, Teighlynn Olsen.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Penny Schrader.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, Osage City. The family will receive friends Friday evening 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
