State Rep. Mast re-elected as Speaker Pro Tem in Kansas House

On Dec. 1, 2014, state Rep. Peggy Mast (R-Emporia) was re-elected as Speaker Pro Tem in the Kansas House of Representatives. The Republican Caucus unanimously voted for Mast as Pro Tem after state Rep. Don Schroeder (R-Hesston) made the motion to do so. Mast, representing Coffey County and parts of Lyon and Osage counties, will serve as Pro Tem for the upcoming 2015-2016 legislative sessions. She will serve alongside House Speaker Ray Merrick and House Majority Leader Jene Vickrey.

“I am honored and privileged to continue serving the 76th District and the state of Kansas as Speaker Pro Tem in the Kansas House,” Mast said. “I look forward to working with House members for the betterment of Kansas.”

The House of Representatives will reconvene for the 2015 Legislative Session on Jan. 12, 2015.
