Bus schedule dependent upon whims of winter weather

In one week, on Dec. 17, during the Osage County Senior Center’s birthday lunch, we will have the raffle drawing for the “Hole in the Barn Door” queen size-quilt, hand-sewn by the senior sewing ladies.  There will be several other prizes raffled, including a Sponge Bob-character baby wrapper. Overall, prizes valued over $300 will be given away that day. To make your lunch reservations, call 528-4170 at least 24 hours before the meal is to be served. Raffle tickets are available at the senior center.

As we get into winter, with the fluctuations in weather that it brings, we will not have any more special trips on our General Public Transportation buses until about March 2015. All of our regularly scheduled bus trips will continue, unless road conditions become unsafe due to snow-pack or ice. In that case, we would call those who have made trip reservations and try to set up another date for their trip.

The senior center may close at times, too, due to weather conditions. As a county agency, we are obligated to be open regular hours unless the county commission has declared closure of all county departments. For more information about the senior center, call 785-528-4906 or stop by 604 Market St., Osage City.
