The Kansas Highway Patrol is requesting information about a two-vehicle crash in Shawnee County that took the lives of a Scranton man and a Topeka man Tuesday.

KHP reported that Steven G. Galarneau, 62, of Scranton, and David N. Hilleland, 64, Topeka, were killed in the collision that occurred at about 5:25 p.m. Dec. 16, on U.S. Highway 75 at NW 62nd Street, just north of Topeka.

A 2011 Ford F-350, driven by Leon J. Weber, 56, Yates Center, was travelling northbound on U.S. 75, and struck Galarneau’s vehicle on the driver’s side door. Weber and his passenger, Mary L. Weber, 55, Yates Center, were uninjured in the crash. Both drivers and their passengers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Today, the KHP issued a request to the public for any information about the crash. Anyone with any information, or who may have witnessed the crash, is asked to contact Trooper Jordan Plachecki, the lead investigator of the crash. Plachecki can be reached at 785-296-3102.
