OCPR Update: Signup continues for youth dribblers and softball players

OCPR-logo-redSignup deadline for youth basketball for 4-year-olds and kindergarteners is getting near, and Osage City Parks and Recreation has scheduled a softball clinic for third through eighth grade softball players.

Youth Basketball
(4-year-old and kindergarten)

This is an instructional basketball program designed to teach basketball fundamentals, shooting, dribbling, passing, and good sportsmanship through team practice and game play.

  • Kindergarten practice dates and location: Sundays, Jan. 11-Feb. 22, 5-6 p.m., Osage City Junior High gym.
  • Kindergarten basketball instructors – Kate and Lucas Boss.
  • Players receive a team shirt and participation award.
  • Cost is $20 per player.
  • Kindergarten signup deadline – Jan. 5.

OCPR Softball Clinic

Softball instructor: OCHS Softball Head Coach Tammy Serna, 13 years coaching high school level softball.

  • 3rd-8th grade softball players.
  • Clinic dates, Jan. 14, 21, 28 and Feb. 4, 11, 18.
  • Pitching, 5-6 p.m.
  • Pitchers MUST supply their own catcher for the session.
  • Hitting, 6-7 p.m.
  • Clinic location, OCPR building, 517 S. First St., Osage City.
  • Clinic cost, USD 420 students, $10 per day, $60 total; non-USD 420 students, $20 per day, $120 total.
