TOPEKA – Becky Turner, formerly of Overbrook, has been presented with Family Service & Guidance Center’s 2015 Distinguished Staff Award in the case management category.

“Each year, a few staff of our 280 staff members distinguish themselves through outstanding service to the children and families we serve. These awards are our way of saying thank you,” Brenda Mills, CEO, said.

Awards are given annually in six staff categories. Employees were nominated by their peers and selected by a committee of FSGC staff members representing a diverse cross-section of the agency. Recipients of the award are selected for a high level of effectiveness in their work with children, families and co-workers; zeal in promoting the advancement of mental health; and professional interest and involvement.

Turner, a 1999 graduate of Santa Fe Trail High School and daughter of Carole Turner, now resides in Topeka.

Family Service & Guidance Center is a nonprofit community mental health center, in Topeka, that serves over 12,000 children, adolescents and families each year with a full range of mental health care services.
