Anthem data breach may have affected some KanCare members

TOPEKA – On Feb. 5, 2015, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) was notified by Amerigroup that a cyber-attack of its parent company, Anthem, may have affected people enrolled in KanCare, Kansas’ Medicaid program.

KDHE is working collaboratively with Amerigroup to understand the impact of the cyber attack, and to ensure any affected KanCare members receive the required notification. Amerigroup’s parent company, Anthem, will provide credit monitoring services to anyone affected.
