Almost in love for ACT Ottawa’s Valentine’s presentation

AlmostMaine125Love is in the air for Valentine’s week as ACT Ottawa brings romantic comedy and date night dinner theater to Franklin County.

ACT Ottawa, Ottawa’s community theater, is staging John Cariani’s “Almost, Maine” in the Ottawa Municipal Auditorium, 301 S. Hickory St. Opening night is 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12. A second performance will be Friday, Feb. 13, at the same time. A special dinner theater performance by reservation only will be staged for Valentine’s Day at 7 p.m., with a catered dinner at 6 p.m. A daytime matinee is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15.

“On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend – almost – in this delightful midwinter night’s dream,” says the back cover of “Almost, Maine”.
