Resource fair focuses on senior living

The Seventh Annual Senior Resource Fair will be Thursday, April 25, at the Osage County Senior Center, 604 Market St., Osage City. The event will provide information and education about local resources available to senior citizens of Osage County. Thirty-three vendors have confirmed attendance for this event.

Informational sessions begin at 11:15 a.m. with the Kansas Department of Insurance offering information on Medicare and its changes, followed by the Osage County Sheriff’s Office at 12:15 p.m. presenting a program on senior safety.

There will be drawings at 12:45 p.m. for giveaway prizes.

All seniors are invited to the fair to learn about the resources available to them in Osage County. There is no charge to attend the fair.

For a freewill donation, the Osage City Chamber of Commerce is offering coffee and donuts, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Lunch is also available for the community through the Mid-America Nutrition Program, but those who wish to eat lunch must make reservations; call 785-528-4170.

The fair will also be collecting old glasses to donate to the Lions Club. Everyone is invited to stop by to drop off old glasses.

The resource fair is sponsored by Osage County Health Department, Osage County Senior Center and PRN Home Health and Hospice, Inc.

Bus transit is available for Osage County residents, with discounts for those staying for lunch. For bus information, call the senior center at 785-528-4906.

  • Tuesday, April 23 – Ceramics 9 a.m.; Mexican Train games 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 24 – Sewing 8 a.m.; armchair exercise 11 a.m.; cribbage 12:15 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 25 – Donuts and coffee 8:30 a.m.; art and painting class 9 a.m.; senior resource fair 10 a.m.
