Cleopa (Thomas) Shipp, 96, Waverly, Ill.: Sept. 14, 1918 – March 27, 2015

032914-shippOVERBROOK, Kan. – Cleopa (Thomas) Shipp, formerly of Waverly, Ill., most recently of Overbrook, Kan., died Friday, March 27, 2015, at Overbrook.

She was born Sept. 14, 1918, the daughter of Bradford and Era Knight Thomas. She married Samuel Shipp, who preceded her in death, along with her parents, and brother Ralph Thomas.

She is survived by two sons, William T. (wife Chris) Shipp, Overbrook, and Richard K. (wife Corinne) Shipp, Aurora, Colo.; three grandchildren, Wynndee (husband David) Lee, Ottawa, Kan.; Thomas (wife Kim) Shipp, Tallahassee, Fla., and Mark (wife Laura) Iwanycky, Seven Hills, Ohio; and two great grandchildren, Kelsey (husband Jack) Kenyon and Samantha Lee.

Cleopa is lovingly remembered as a kind and caring person who loved and cared for those around her. She will be deeply missed and remain in the hearts and thoughts of her family and friends forever.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, at Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly, Ill. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
