OCPR Update: Spring brings Tee-ball, swimming and barbecue

Osage City Parks and Recreation is gearing up for Tee-ball, swimming season, and Smoke in the Spring (April 10-11, 2015)!

  • Tee-ball forms will be available the end of April.
  • Tee-ball is for kids age 3-5.

OCPR Summer Job Opening – Swim Team Head Coach

OCPR is taking applications for Swim Team Head Coach.

  • The applicant needs to be at least 18 years of age.
  • This is a Osage City Aquatic Center Seasonal Part-Time hourly position, during June and July.
  • The Swim Team Head Coach would oversee the OCPR Swim Team Program – Planning and organizing swim team practices for many different aged swimmers (60, U6-U18 swimmers); managing assistant coaches (5, WSI lifeguards); being in charge of two swim meets at OCAC (with the help of OCAC staff and volunteers) and attending all swim meets during the summer season; working in conjunction with the OCAC pool manager to schedule team practices and communication to team and OCAC staff about practices and/or swim meets. CPR certification preferred but not required.
  • Applications can be picked up Osage City Hall or contact Corey Linton.
  • Application Deadline is May 1; interviews as needed.

This is a special community evening showcasing Smoke in the Spring BBQ teams who choose to cook food for the public.

  • BBQ teams accept BBQ Bucks as payment for the food.
  • BBQ Bucks can be purchased at either Osage City Hall or Edward Jones starting April 6.
  • BBQ Bucks will be sold on-site 2-7 p.m. April 10, at the Community Building concession stand windows
  • BBQ Bucks can be reused, from year to year.
  • BBQ Bucks are a dollar for dollar exchange.
