Pauline Arb, 85, Melvern: June 29, 1929 – March 30, 2015

MELVERN – Pauline Arb, 85, passed away on March 30, 2015, at Brewster Place, in Topeka, Kan. She was born on June 29, 1929, on the family farm in Franklin County, the daughter of Henry and Carrie Marks Mason.

Pauline grew up in the Chippewa Hills area of Franklin County and had lived in Melvern for more than 60 years.

She had worked at Beto Junction as a cashier, Lyndon Hilltop Nursing Home, was a homemaker while her kids were in school, and was the bookkeeper for Arb Truck Line for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Melvern United Methodist Church, the U.M.W. and the VFW Auxiliary No. 6406.

Pauline was married to Earl Dean Arb on March 15, 1953, in Ottawa. Earl Dean preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1985. She married Orville Arb in February 1993 at Melvern. Orville preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1999. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Henry Mason Jr., William Mason, Louis Mason and Charles Mason.

Pauline is survived by her two children, Rick Arb, Melvern, and Deanna (Mark) Heilmann, Topeka; two brothers, Robert (Judy) Mason, Burlington, and Elmer Mason, Ottawa; three sisters, Shirley (Vince) Bulgarelli, Ottawa, Mabel (James) Lee, Bluff-Dale, Texas, and Ella Mae Wynn, Ottawa; four grandchildren, Mandi Adams, Brandon Heilmann, Tara Habiger, and Crystal Arb, and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at the Melvern United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Melvern Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Friday at the church.
