Sakura Choir serenades Osage City

The Emporia State University Japanese Association Sakura presented the Sakura Choir Concert at Grace Lutheran Church, Osage City, on Sunday.

The choir is directed by Masatoshi Takami and was originally formed to raise funds for the victims of northern Japan in the earthquake of 2011. As described by one attendee, those in attendance were treated to a fantastic performance.

The concert was sponsored by the Osage City Area Arts Council. The next OCAAC event will be the 35th Infantry Division Band of the Kansas Army National Guard at 7:30 p.m. July 2 at the Osage City High School auditorium. Admission is free.
