Marjorie Allen, 88, Lyndon: Sept. 29, 1926 – May 11, 2015

051215-allenLYNDON – Marjorie Allen, 88, of Lyndon, Kan., passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was born Sept. 29, 1926, in Florence, Kan., the daughter of Ernest and Agnes Waner Seibel.

Marjorie spent her early years in Marion County.

On September 27, 1942, Marjorie was married to Irving Allen, in Marion, Kan. They spent their early years farming in and around Peabody and Burns. In 1948, they moved to northeast Osage County, where they farmed until 1959, when they moved to Lyndon and made their home.

Marjorie was a wife, a mother and a homemaker. She also worked 13 years as a cook in the cafeteria at USD 421 Lyndon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving, on Oct. 24, 1999; a daughter, Patti Allen on Feb. 26, 1999; a granddaughter, Carrie Allen in 1975, and a brother, Ralph Seibel.

Marjorie is survived by two sons, Bill (Kathy) Allen, Vassar, Kan., and John (Chelli) Allen, Centerville, Mich.; two daughters, Judy Murphy, Lyndon, and Jackie (LeRoy) Shoblo, Loveland, Colo.; brother Wayne (Claudia) Seibel, Columbia, S.C.; sister, Marilyn (Phill) Adams, Halstead, Kan.; and 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Marjorie will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. The family will greet friend 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the chapel.
