Esther Lorene Green, 78, Oskaloosa: Feb. 18, 1937 – May 12, 2015

OSKALOOSA, Kan. – Lorene Green, 78, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the Hickory Pointe Care and Rehab Center, in Oskaloosa, Kan. She was born on Feb. 18, 1937, in Osage City, Kan., the daughter of Clarence Joesph and Fredia Josphine Allison Hokanson.

She was married to Kenneth Hopkins; they later divorced. She married Richard Green June 12, 1982, in Quenemo, Kan.

Lorene was a custodian at the University of Kansas from 1971 to 1984. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary 2700, of Ottawa, Kan., and the Ottawa Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard on Aug. 12, 2007, and an infant daughter, Fredia Mae Chenoweth.

Lorene is survived by a son, Kenneth (Sharon) Hopkins, of Allen, Texas; three daughters, Connie (Mike) Teter, Garnett, Kan., Janice (Mack) Henricks, Oskaloosa, and Genia (Richard) Henricks, Quenemo; a brother, George (Ivy) Hokanson, Hays, Kan.; and 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, north of Quenemo.
