Jeffery Michael Hedrick, 13, Topeka: April 19, 2002 – May 20, 2015

TOPEKA – Jeffery Hedrick, 13, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at his home in Topeka. He was born on April 9, 2002, in Burlington, Kan., the son of Brett and Nichole Schecher Hedrick.

Jeff had been a student at Tecumseh North Grade School and Shawnee Heights Middle School. Jeff was a member of the Warrior Football team and was on the squad when they won the championship. He started wrestling with the Ogden Outlaws when he was 8 years old and he was active in the Shawnee Heights wrestling, track and golf teams and the Black Diamond baseball team. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also an avid skateboarder.

Jeff was preceded in death by a grandfather, Bryan Harper Sr.

Jeff is survived by his parents, Brett and Jamie Hedrick, Topeka, and Nichole and Keith Henry, Lecompton; two brothers, Kaden Henry and Jaxson Henry; a sister, Haley Hedrick; grandparents, Theresa and Barry Bronson, Lyndon, Jerry Schecher, Tecumseh, Mike and Diane Hedrick, Vassar, Don and Sandy Webb, Berryton, and Susan Henry, Topeka; great-grandparents, Susanne and Jim Hoffman and Chuck and Bernetta Schecher, all of Horton, Wayne Hedrick, Ottawa, and Sandy Harper, Florence; great-great-grandparents, Herman and Nan Torkelson, Horton; and many uncles and aunts.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at the Highland Heights Christian Church, 2930 SE Tecumseh Rd., Tecumseh. Cremation will follow services. The family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, in Lyndon.
