Kansas Army National Guard Band to perform at Osage City on Flag Day

The Osage City Area Arts Council will present the Kansas Army National Guard 35th Infantry Division Band in concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening, June 14, 2015, in the Osage City High School auditorium, Fifth and Ellinwood streets. Under the direction of Chief Warrant Officer Stephen Patterson, this will be the ninth year the band has performed in Osage City.

The official band of the Kansas National Guard has performed extensively throughout the Midwest and traveled as musical ambassadors for the Department of State on several international tours. The band is headquartered in Olathe, Kan., and is made up of citizen/soldier musicians from Kansas and Missouri. The band performs as a marching or concert band as well as smaller jazz, rock, vocal or classical ensembles.

This home front concert will be filled with patriotic music including military marches and big band selections. The always popular salute to local veterans and their families will be included.

Admission to the Flag Day concert is free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to bring family and friends and enjoy an evening of patriotic big band music.
