OCPR Update: The swimming pool is OPEN!

Osage City Parks and Recreation has been busy planning summer activities, and as summer arrives, is reminding everyone that the Osage City Aquatic Center is a great place to cool off.

Osage City Aquatic Center

OCAC Pool Hours

  • May 23-August 16, Monday-Friday, 1-8pm, Saturday and Sunday, 1-6pm.
  • August 17 – Labor Day, Saturday and Sunday, 1-6pm (includes Labor Day).

Daily admission, $3 (Age 4 and Above); Age 3 and Below FREE; Age 65 and Over FREE

OCAC Swim Pass Booklets

  • Swim booklets go on sale at Osage City Hall May 18 and are available for purchase at OCAC starting May 24.
  • 50 Swim Card Booklet, $50.

OCAC Water Aerobics

  • Tuesday and Thursdays, 6:15pm
  • Starting the week of June 1 and continuing through the summer

Cost is $25 per swimmer per session. Pre-School classes are for children age 3-5. A minimum of 4 swimmers is needed for a class to make. Swim lessons are Monday-Thursday ONLY.

  • Cost $40 per week (One week=five 30-minute lessons)

  • A child’s grade is based on their grade for the 2014-2015 school year.

Youth Football Camp

Grade is based on the player’s grade in the 2015-2016 school year.

Soccer Camp

  • 5th-8th Grade – Grade is based on the 2015-2016 school year.
  • OCPR is partnering with Ryan Murphy to offer a Soccer Camp for boys and girls in 5th-8th grade. Ryan will be the Soccer Camp Coordinator. Ryan was the Head Soccer Coach at Desoto High School (2004), and has coached Club Select Soccer in Lawrence and Emporia.
  • Camp location, open space south of the Powell House (South 2nd Street)
  • Camp dates and time, July 21-24, 9-11 a.m.
  • Players at the soccer camp will participate in, fun games, scrimmages, drills, and will review soccer game footage on video.
  • July 24 (Camp captains will be chosen and players will be split into teams).
  • Players need to wear comfortable clothes for camp (t-shirt, shorts, cleated shoes are preferred but not required), and water. A snack will be provided on each camp day.
  • Camp Fee, $20 per player
  • Camp forms and payment can be taken to Osage City Hall (Utility Office, 201 South 5th Street)

Youth drama camp – Shrek Jr.

Students are responsible for having music and lines memorized at the start of camp. The camp will be used for staging, set design and costumes, rehearsal, and guest speakers.

Pre-K and kindergarten

  • July 27-31, 9-10am
  • $20 per child

1st-2nd grade

  • July 27-31, 10-11am
  • $20 per child

3rd-6th Grade

  • July 27-31, 10am-2pm
  • $35 per child
  • 3rd-6th Grade students must bring a sack lunch
  • Only a Snack will be provided

Casting Session (3rd-6th Grade Only)

  • 3rd-6th grade students must attend one casting session
  • Students should be prepared to sing a short song of their choice
  • June 28, 6pm, OCHS Choir Room (enter through outside door)
  • June 29, 2pm, OCHS Choir Room (enter through outside door)
