Betty L. Bachelor, 88, Carbondale: Oct. 7, 1924 – April 18, 2013

Carbondale—Betty L. Bachelor, 88, passed away April 18, 2013, at Midland Hospice Care, Topeka. She was born on Oct. 7, 1924, in Neosho Falls, the daughter of Tom and Roxy Milner Salsbury.

She had lived in the Carbondale area for the last 62 years.

She worked in the Santa Fe offices for 10 years, was a school bus driver, and cleaned houses for several years. From 1987 to 2008 she made hamburgers at the Overbrook Sale Barn.  She was a member of the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship.

On May 11, 1947, she married Lloyd W. Bachelor Jr. in Topeka.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 26, 2000, and also by two sisters, Mabel Campbell and Dorothy Sherwood.

She is survived by her two children, Michael Bachelor, Overbrook, and Sharon Hannagan, Topeka; two sisters, Irene Smart, Osage City, and Velma Bulvin, Laramie, Wyo.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were April 24 at the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship. Burial was in the Overbrook Cemetery.
