Robert L. Klofkorn, 72, Lyndon: Jan. 13, 1943 – June 25, 2015

LYNDON – Robert L. Klofkorn, 72, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the Midland Hospice House, in Topeka. He was born on Jan. 13, 1943, in Caldwell, Kan., the son of Ivan and Katherine O’Meara Klofkorn.

Bob graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1961. He served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965. He was a member of the Topeka Bowhunters Association.

He had lived in Owasso, Okla., and worked as a lathe operator in an aircraft plant. In Parsons, Kan., he was in quality control at an ammunition plant. He worked with the ROTC at Southwestern Oklahoma State, in Weatherford, Okla. In 1978, he moved to Lyndon, where he worked for the Corps of Engineers at Lake Pomona, then at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant near Desoto, and finally as a security guard in Topeka.

On Jan. 7, 1967, Bob was married to Jeanette Nance, in Independence, Kan.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jeanette, of the home; his son, Dakota Klofkorn, Osage City; two daughters, Darci Witte, Garnett, and Sonnet Jackson, Azle, Texas; two sisters, Sandy Harrison, Hermiston, Ore., and Donna Gilchrist, Independence; and four grandchildren.

Private family graveside services will be held. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, in Lyndon.
