Osage City parades for 70th annual county fair

Representing their hometown as Mr. and Mrs. Osage City in this year’s Osage County Fair Parade, held Thursday evening, were Willie and Mary Sue Atchison. The fair continues through Saturday. See schedule here.

The staff of Osage Nursing Center were dreaming of poolside refreshments and ice cold dips in the pool during the “The Dog Days of Summer”, the theme of this year’s parade, to win first place for their float in the 2015 Osage County Fair Parade.

Willing Workers 4-H Club won second place for their float depicting having buckets of fun as a way to cool off during hot days on the farm.

Lyndon Leaders 4-H Club’s third-place float showed a popular way to stay cool in Osage County – at a local lake riding the “4-H wave”.

The cast of Osage City Parks and Recreation summer drama camp promotes the upcoming production of Shrek Jr. with their fourth-place float.

In recognition of her years of service to the Osage City community, Julie Carlson was named as grand marshal of the 2015 Osage County Fair Parade.
