Pastors invited to board meeting

Kids in the kitchen

Harvesters is a community food network that assists over 66,000 people each week. One of their services is a free class called “Kids in the Kitchen” which focuses on food preparation, food safety skills, nutrition and the importance of making healthy food choices. In each lesson, kids get to cook together to prepare a recipe and eat it! It is very exciting to see how much talent the kids have in the kitchen and the healthy food they eat when they see how fun it can be to cook.

We are fortunate to be able to offer Harvesters “Kids in the Kitchen” to children in kindergarten to sixth grades at Help House in Lyndon. The class will be 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. July 22, and only 20 spaces are available!

If you would like your child to participate, registration deadline is 1 p.m. July 9. Call Help House to register.

School supplies

Help House will be collecting school supplies the month of July to hand out Aug. 1-15. Drop off your donations during the hours we are open; do not drop off in the shed, please.

Help House Fan Club

We are continuing to collect fans for our Fan Club through the month of July and have some available to hand out now.

Welcome donations

Donations recently received: The Knights of Columbus Council 7769 donated 1,000 pounds of food, and Lyndon United Methodist Church donated 350 personal care packages as their mission project during vacation Bible school.

Help House at the fair

The silent auction during Sunflower Days 4-H Fair in Melvern raised a total of $1,100. Be sure to look for us at the Overbrook Osage County Fair on Aug. 15. We have a wonderful selection of donated items for the silent auction. The auctions are our main fund raisers of the year, so please come out and help support Help House and pick up some great deals.
