OCPR Update: Swimming, water aerobics, cheerleading, volleyball

Osage City Parks and Recreation has been busy with summer activities, and  is reminding everyone that the Osage City Aquatic Center is a great place to cool off on hot days. Upcoming are cheerleading camps, youth volleyball camp, and youth volleyball league games.

Osage City Aquatic Center Pool Hours

  • May 23-August 16, Monday-Friday, 1-8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 1-6 p.m.
  • August 17 – Labor Day, Saturday and Sunday, 1-6 p.m. (includes Labor Day).
  • Daily Admission, $3 (Age 4 & above).
  • Age 3 & Below FREE.
  • Age 65 & Over FREE.
  • OCAC Swim Pass Booklets.
  • Swim Booklets are available for purchase at OCAC.
  • 50 Swim Card Booklet, $50.
  • Deck and Pool Rental Reservation can be made with Corey Linton.

OCAC Water Aerobics

  • Tuesday and Thursdays, 6:15 p.m.
  • Starting the week of June 1 and continuing through the summer
  • Water Aerobics Instructor, Marcy DeWitt
  • Cost is $3 per class or One Swim Card

OCHS Cheerleading Camp

  • Camp Instructors – Josi Garland & The OCHS Cheer Team.
  • Camp Location – OC School Gyms.
  • Camp Dates (Wednesdays) – August 26 and September 2, 9
  • Pre-K-1st Grade – 6:30-8 p.m.
  • 2nd-4th Grade – 6:30-8 p.m.
  • 5th-8th Grade – 6:30-8 p.m.
  • Camp Fee, $20 per person.
  • Cheerleaders will learn – 3 Sideline Cheers – One Added Cheer – The OCHS School Song Cheer.
  • Each Cheerleader receives a Camp Shirt.
  • Recommended Practice Clothes – Shorts, Sneakers, Socks, T-Shirt, No Jeans Please.
  • Camp Performance – September 11 (OCHS Football Field).
  • Performance with the OCHS Cheer Team during the first half of the game.
  • Sign up deadline – August 21.
  • Sign-Up Forms Will Be Available at Osage City Hall, sent through the OC Grade School (when school starts), online at www.osagecity.com (click Departments and Parks and Recreation), and on the Osage City Facebook Page.

Youth Volleyball Camp

  • Open to ALL 3rd-6th Graders in the Osage City area.
  • Players will learn floor positioning, passing, serving, setting, and attacking skills.
  • All players receive a camp shirt and each 6th grader receives a special OCPR volleyball.
  • Volleyball Instructors  Amie Lohmeyer and OCHS Volleyball Players.
  • Session Dates & Time: Mondays, September 14, 21, 28 and October 5 – 6-7 p.m.
  • Location – OC School Gyms.
  • $25 per person.
  • -Sign-up deadline – September 1.

Youth Volleyball League

  • Open to ALL 5th/6th Grade volleyball teams in the Osage City area.
  • OCPR is offering a 5th/6th grade recreational volleyball league for area town teams.
  • 6 Team League Max.
  • Teams play a minimum of 4 matches; each match session is 3 total game and rally score for each point.
  • Game #1 & #2 are played to 25 points and Game #3 is played to 15 points.
  • No standings are kept and no awards handed out.
  • OCPR supplies the game ball.
  • League Team Fee – $50 per team.
  • Location – OC School Gyms.
  • League Dates & Time  Mondays, September 14, 21, 28, October 5, 7-8 p.m.
  • Sign up deadline – September 1.
