There have been five individuals complete the Good Sense Budget course this summer and are now eligible to apply for utility assistance and will also qualify this winter if needed. The next classes will be held Aug. 17 and 24, and you must attend both days and successfully complete the course to apply for assistance. Preregistration is required. Call Help House director Pam Bilyeu at 785-828-4888 for more information and to register.

Help House Fan Club

The Help House Fan Club has distributed 13 fans to date. There are still a few fans available; if you are in need of one please come see us.

Kids in the Kitchen

We had nine children attend “Kids in the Kitchen” at Help House, learning how fun it is to fix a nutritious lunch on July 22. The Flatbread Frisbees were yummy and easy to make! Thank you to Aubrey Griffin, from Americorp, working with Harvesters for conducting such a fun activity. Thanks also to Nancy Alley and Joan Hazelton and for helping out with this activity.

School Supplies

School supplies are available on a limited basis for those who did not receive them from ECKAN or other organizations. We need more supplies to be donated. We will hand them out while the supplies last now until Aug. 15.

Silent Auction at the Overbrook Osage County Fair

Silent auction reminder: Look for the Help House booth at the Overbrook Fair from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug 15, and come bid on some fantastic auction items. Like T-Bones tickets, World of Fun tickets, Osage City pool passes with no expiration date that can be used next year, a gift certificate to Dr Kevin Lenahan for exam and glasses up to $250, KC Chiefs tickets, among other items too numerous to list.

Thank you!

Thank you to Overbrook UMC VBS for food donation given to Help House as a Mission Outreach. You are awesome!

Thank you to eight of the Lyndon High School cheerleaders for sharing your time to help others and for brightening that hot day with your bubbly personalities at the Lyndon Harvesters Mobile Pantry Distribution in July.

Sincerely, Pam Bilyeu, director.
