Stay cool with senior center activities

We want to thank all the citizens who came to the nutrition site’s ice cream social on July 30.  The raffle winner of the two fine art prints was Ruth Hickey, of Osage City.

The two special trips in August, to the Combat Air Museum with lunch at McFarland’s on the 15th, and the evening supper bus trip to Perkin’s in Topeka on the 27th, will fill up fast. Call 785-528-4906 or stop by the Osage County Senior Center, 604 Market St., Osage City, to get a seat reserved.

The special bingo to benefit Help House is set for 10 a.m. this Friday, Aug. 7. Each player is expected to bring a prize with a value of at least two dollars. All of these items will be donated to Help House, while the senior center will provide cash prizes for each game played.

The Osage County Council on Aging is still recruiting new members for its board. Currently the towns of Melvern, Overbrook and Quenemo are not represented. The council meets on the second Wednesday of each month to discuss senior center operations and finances. Anyone interested in serving is urged to come to the next council meeting set for 9 a.m. Aug. 12.
