Buddy Gerber, 80, Olivet: Aug. 18, 1934 – Aug. 11, 2015

OLIVET – Buddy Gerber, 80, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at the Flint Hills Care Center, in Emporia, Kan. He was born on Aug. 18, 1934, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Herman and Ina Morris Gerber.

Buddy had lived in Kansas City for many years before moving to Olivet, where he has lived for the last 40 years.

He had owned Gerber Florist and had worked at Gerber Moving and Storage, both in Kansas City. He was a volunteer firefighter and board member of the Osage County Fire District No. 3 Melvern-Olivet. He had been a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, Vassar, and was a member of the Lebo Baptist Church.

Buddy was married to Jeannine Huggard in Miami, Okla. They later divorced.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at the Feltner Funeral Home, in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Alpine Cemetery.
