Boy killed in ATV accident near Miller

A 9-year-old Reading boy was killed Saturday evening when an all-terrain vehicle driven by an 11-year-old overturned in northern Lyon County near Miller.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Ryan Lane, 9, Reading, was a rider on the a 2009 Polaris Ranger ATV driven by Garrett Fager, 11, Reading, when Fager lost control and the vehicle came to rest on the driver’s side. Lane was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, but died from his injuries.

Fager and another passenger, Logun Fager, 9, Reading, were also injured in the accident, according to the KHP report.

The ATV was westbound on Road 360 and Road X, three miles north of Miller, about 7:30 p.m. Saturday when the accident happened, KHP reported.
