Daryl L. Michael, 82, Lyndon: July 15, 1933 – Aug. 22, 2015

LYNDON – Daryl L. Michael, 82, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at the Stormont-Vail Hospital, in Topeka. He was born on July 15, 1933, in Lyndon, the son of William and Louise Deskins Michael.

Daryl attended the Whitney Country School until fifth grade, then attended Lyndon, graduating in 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1952 and served as a medical corpsman on the U.S.S. Midway. He was a farmer and stockman all of his life. He had attended the Lyndon Assembly of God Church and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Osage City.

On Oct. 7, 1957, Daryl was married to Carol Peterson, in Lyndon.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home; son, Mark (Cathy) Michael, Buena Vista, Colo.; daughter, Kim (Devin) Sprecker, Lyndon; sister, Wanda King, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; and seven grandchildren, Chelsea Sprecker, Cory Sprecker, Kate Sprecker and Caroline Sprecker, all of Lyndon, Abby (Neil) Hoffman, Overland Park, Ethan (Paige) Michael, Osage City, and Emma Michael, Buena Vista, Colo.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the First Presbyterian Church, in Osage City. Burial with military honors will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, in Lyndon.
